How to Clean Canvas Shoes:
There's a good chance your favorite pair of shoes is canvas. They are one of the most comfortable footwear materials which makes them an easy pair to put on. But the result of wearing them day after day is that stains, dirt and grime build up quickly.
If you want your canvas kicks to be as fresh as the day you bought them and you want your favorite pair of shoes to last, then it helps to know how to clean them.
Grab an old toothbrush and start scrubbing to get rid of all the extra dirt and mud.
Fill a bucket or bowl with hot water and liquid detergent or dish soap. Next, dip your toothbrush in and continue scrubbing the areas that need attention.
Once they have been thoroughly cleaned, rinse the shoes in warm, clean water. Absorb excess water with an old towel.
Help them keep fit by filling your canvas kicks with paper towels or dry washcloths. Then let them air dry inside in a warm place. Note: Direct sunlight or direct heat will deform the shoes or discolor them
How to Clean Suede Shoes:
If you are wearing suede shoes like many adidas Originals, then you look around in one of the most elegant materials. But unfortunately, it is extremely difficult to clean because suede is the underside of the leather. It is an absorbent material, which grabs everything and everything that falls, spills or makes its way. Eventually, you'll need to clean them and here's how.
But first, a warning: DO NOT use water to clean suede. Water leaves marks, altering its appearance and staining the suede
Grab your old toothbrush and get to work. Gently smoothes surface stains and discards dirt.
Start applying pressure with the brush to remove deeper stains.
If needed, purchase a white eraser or suede polish kit from the store. A soft nail file might also do the trick.
If really necessary, try scrubbing problem spots with a white cloth dipped in white vinegar or rubbing alcohol to remove super-stubborn stains.
